couldnt wait for the sun to rise on sebago this weekend, so cold that the windsheild on the boat had a quarter inch of ice on it. things warmed up nicely into the low 50's though. made up some marinade and tried out the canister that came with my new foodsaver, drizzled some honey on during the cook and some toasted sesame seeds, pretty darn tasty. with my new food saver with the canister adapter, what accessories do you use regularly, the canister is not big enough for what i would normally use for a marinade. are the ball jar covers usefull etc., need to pick up a few things for it

Food Saver actually makes a square dish with lid for the express purpose of marinating. I can't seem to find where my wife has it stashed so I can't measure it for you. It's big enough to hold anything I marinate - other than a whole yard bird! As for the bell jar adapter - I have it, but have never tried it, but see no reason it wouldn't work. BTW I got all these accessories as part of my purchase - otherwise I may not have bought them - except for the marinating dish - that's worth the cost IMHO.

fishlessman,[p]I use the bell jar attachment for storage of herbs, dried chilies, rice and the like. I've had dried chilies last years. Like RRP said, they have a square-marinating canister, which I also use a lot. Most of the time, I use the bags to marinate. Really should use the canisters to marinate more come to think of it. I found I wanted more canisters, so I got them at Linens and Things with a 20% off coupon. [p]The marinating canister bottom is about 8 1/4" X 7 3/4" and 2 3/4" deep. Details below:
