Need cornish hen cooking advice.........

I don't have a meat thermometer yet and plan to indirect cook a cornish hen at 350 degrees dome temp on a spanek vertical. How long should it take?? One hour?? I cooked a spatchcocked full sized chicken at the same temp in an hour, but since the cornish hen is a whole bird, wasn't sure of cooking time. I am also thinking of stuffing it with dirty rice before cooking it......

GenesGrill, boy I do these all the time, Somewhere aroud 325-350 for about 75-90 minutes, I do 4-5 at a time. No rack, indirect, I turn over at about 30 minutes, then back 30 minutes later, Cherry or maple wood is best. I'll be doing 8 of these on sat. Mmm, Mmm, Good

tach18k,
What's the best way to tell if they are done or not?? Will cooking it with (precooked) rice stuffing increase the cooking time?? Thanks!

GenesGrill,
I have cooked this recipe a few times and it is really good.

YB,
Do you cook these on a V-rack, spanek vertical, or just directly (horizontally) on the grill?? Direct or indirect??

<p />GenesGrill,[p]You might try these for Cornish Hens. They stand upright in a drip pan and the ceramic insert will help cook the bird from the inside as well. The end result is crisp skin. They sell a pair for Cornish Hens for $19.99 which includes shipping.[p]Cheers,[p]GrillMeister
