Corner Table for large egg
Checked the archives with no luck. I want to build a stationary table for my large egg. I want to build a table where the egg is in the corner "90 degrees" with side tables on both sides. Any one have plans for this or know where I can get help? Anything or pictures would help. Thanks in advance..........Gentleman Jim KcKS.

Gentleman Jim,
Good idea. I'm sure there are a few who will look forward to seeing the end product.[p]Assuming you are going to make it out of wood, the same techniques of building it would apply as what you see on the Naked Whiz's site. Well, all except the obvious: the 90° turn and the fact that you are probably not going to be able to move it around on wheels.[p]If I was building it I think I would do a short 45° in the middle to connect one side to the other side. I think it will look nicer and be more functional. You could do the same in the back. Kinda like part of an octagon. [p]Another thought comes to mind is that you could make it in a modular grouping - three individual pieces, two just alike and the center piece built to accommodate the two side tables. That way you can bolt & unbolt them together as needed. Could be a lot easier to handle too.[p]Just my thoughts. I would enjoy working on that project with you. Too bad you're not close to me.[p]Spring "Sawdust Maker" Chicken

Gentleman Jim,
I second Spring Chicken's thoughts, you would want an inside length at a 45 degree angle to each of the sides for easier access to the cooking surface, you don't want to be reaching into a deep V when you're cooking. I'd suggest and inside length of at least 12" to bring you close enough for comfort, anything over 18" will be wasting a lot of space.[p]Cheers,

Spring/Jim,[p]I elected to do a modular set-up as Spring Chicken suggested. I built two individual tables that house a large in each. I can push them together, separate them with a counter in between if I want. I can get a hand truck under them and take them to cook-offs in the tables also.[p]You could easily build yourself 3 sections and have the coner table you speak of.[p]

Gentleman Jim,
the guys that have mentioned the 45 degree corners have a great point. try to imagine which egg is easier to belly up to.[p]you can still have an overall 90 degree plan, but you'll find it easier if the inside corner is a 45....[p]
