Has anyone tried to marinate a Boston Butt? Please don't toss me out of the forum for asking this! A friend who has enjoyed pulled pork off the BGE asked to post this question. I have found Vietnature Country Stlye Ribs recipe with Vietnamese marinade. I have also found Dr. Chicken's "Elephant Butt" posted in January, which was sans a marinade recipe. All ideas will be read with high interest. Thanks.

    Fireball,
Last year I cooked 3 butts for a party, and marinated two. One was the "Red-Eye" recipe from Smoke and Spice (with coffee in it), and the other was a jerk marinade. They were both good, but the jerk was better. I think I used Island Pit jerk marinade, but there are several other good ones that have quite a kick...Walkerswood, Eaton's and Mrs. Dogs.[p]Any pork marinade would work...add some borboun for a nice twist.
Have been wanting to try my Vietnature recipe on a butt, but there are too many things to try.[p]Good luck, and let us know what you end up doing.
