Car Wash Mike,
pancetta.. .sauted till crispy, cooled, crumbled, along with 1 cup grated fresh parmesan reggiano, 4 eggs, 1 cup milk, 1 small container of heavy cream. ...mix together, put in a pie crust (i buy those already made ones), bake in your egg (indirect on grid over inverted plate setter) at 375 - 400 degrees dome temp for about 40 minutes or until browned on top. .. .great torte (its NOT a quiche). .. . [p]see if they have "farro" ... its a grain. ..makes a great side dish. .. i'll get you that recipe if they have the stuff. ...[p]how about some really good risotto rice. . .i'll give you the classic recipe/method for making risotto. ..if they have it and you buy it, make sure you get a bottle of white wine, and plenty of beef or chicken broth to make it with. .. [p]and if you see anything that simply looks cool, buy it. . . you know someone here will have a recipe for you. . . [p]

Car Wash Mike,
here is the link to the pancetta torte. ..i've since been adjusting by going with 4 eggs, a small container of cream, full cup of milk, and full cup of cheese (maybe even a little more. ..

mad max beyond eggdome,
i dont think ive ever had or even seem a torte, but i do like fried pancetta about a quarter inch thick as a treat. will give this torte a try, would it be good for breakfast and do you only eat it when its warm
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
fishlessman,
see the link. ...sure, you could eat it for breakfast, or as a great side to a steak . . .pretty versatile dish. . .easy to make using the pre-made pie crusts.. . and while i think its best hot, you can certainly pull the leftover right out of the fridge and eat a wedge cold. ..
