Buying the egg

Hi all, I'm finally ready to buy my first egg. I don't have many dealers in my immediate vicinity, so I was going to order it online (caution caution, right?). Anyway, I found this place homeclick.com, which claims to be an authorized reseller. Mostly I'm concerned about voiding the warranty. Here is the link to the sale page:[p]http://www.homeclick.com/showpage.asp?itemid=163215[p]Is this a poor idea? Also, apologies if I'm not supposed to post this here...just trying to harness the knowledge of the community. Thanks!

JP,[p]Yeah, post away![p]I know nothing about this vendor but you might also want to look at other on-line vendors. You can find links on the nakedwhiz.com website (no, its not a porn site) at the link shown below. Some of the vendors have received very good reviews by folks on this forum.

    JP,
You might give these guys a try. I have never bought a BGE from them but I bought some accessories from them. Their customer service has been excellent!![p]mule

mule,[p]Thanks, I looked at this place and it does seem to have the best prices around. Anyway, I am now the proud new owner of a BGE (maybe I'll even have it in my possession by early next week). What accessories are the most mandatory? I was thinking a platesetter...do I need something to set the egg on or can I get away without a cart for present? Thanks![p]-Josh

    JP,
I have yet to build a table for my egg, until I do my egg is on concrete patio blocks. A lot of folks use a large concrete patio paver to set the egg on, they are about 16" square and others are 24". All you need is one and they are great to insulate the egg from a deck or wood table. I also recommend a cover for your egg to keep it dry when its not in use, I use a cheap vinyl kettle cover, no graphics and in neutral grey. BGE sells a vinyl cover for the egg also.
Congrat's on becoming a egg head!

  • JP, my only suggestion would be to open the box and make sure there are no cracks before the deliveryman leaves.
