Recommending Egg to non-red meat eater?

Friend of mine has the hots to get an Egg. His wife does not eat red meat. At all. Ever. Hasn't for 33 years. She eats fish, chicken, turkey...favorite being fish. As a result, he pretty much eats beef when he's in a restaurant.[p]If you didn't do beef (lamb/pork), would you still think an Egg is a good investment? I'm such a carnivore it's hard for me to judge.[p]mShark

    MollyShark,
Give him a sample of those Ginger Lime Chicken Skewers (Kabobs) you cooked at the Florida fest and he'll be down to your dealer in no time flat!

<p />MollyShark,[p]Sure would. Fish, chicken, turkey, pizza, quesadillas, bread, grilled veggies, veggie chili and stews, smoked fish, desserts, grilled shrimp, coconut shrimp, etc, etc. Now you went and made me hungry. [p]pizza4.jpg[p]CB4.jpg[p]trout1.jpg[p]

MollyShark,[p]Good Grief! You must know that chicken comes out of an Egg outstandingly moist and good! I also do a lot of veggies, like when I'm making a veggie soup. The slight smoke flavor really enhances the flavor of a soup. And cold roasted veggies sliced atop a bunch of greens makes one heck of a salad for me![p]I love salt water fish (too bad I'm now living in the midwest) :-([p]But by good luck, and clean living, I bought some really fresh halibut yesterday and cooked it on a fish grate sitting on Chubby's tall GrateMates. Delish!!! I will do fresh snapper fillet whenever I can get it. And of course, salmon fillet can be cooked a dozen ways and is wonderful as well. I smoked salmon last year when the market was flooded with them, froze the results in Foodsaver bags, and pull it out for either a snack on crackers, or made into a killer dip that guests rave about (recipes abound on this board for smoked salmon dip).[p]Never done turkey on the Egg, but so many have posted, and boasted, that I think I will have to try at least a breast (they always used to come out so dry for me on my gasser that I gave them up . . . but then, I do own an Egg or two, don't I!).[p]Seems to me you gave yourself three good reasons for him to buy his wife an Egg (chicken, fish & turkey. Add in veggies and eggs and you've cornered the non-red meat market). Plus, he can sneek in a steak or three when she is out of town![p]Just my pre-second-cuppa thoughts.[p]Happy day,[p]DD

MollyShark,[p]I should think it would be a GREAT investment! Why not? You can probally do chicken more really tasty ways on an Egg than you can on/in a stove/oven. Tell him to go for it.

MollyShark, I like whole turkey breast on the Egg. Also its nice to have second Egg close by. Now red meat do you mean no pork, lamb?

    Chuck,
That shrimp picture is my all time favorite. Should be on the cover of a magazine.

    tach18k,[p]Yep. She's not a real skinny one either so I suspect she's sneaking some ice cream at night! LOL. [p]I can't imagine...just can't imagine.[p]mShark

    MollyShark,
My wife is also a non red meat eater, just fish, turkey, and chicken, like you I am a meat eater. I have had the BGE for 8 years, cooked some great dinners we both enjoyed, chicken, turkey breast, and some fish. When we have guests, it's a big hit. as we do Ribeyes, etc...and my wife is OK, eating the baked potatoe, salad, and an occasionalm cheese cake. So I say go for it to your friend.

  • MollyShark,
My wife rarely eats red meat. So most of the cooks I do are chicken and pork, with some fish thrown in. And pizza, of course. :)[p]And I use my egg about 3-4 times/week. [p]Cheers, Adrian
