i'll try this again. i thought i posted a message awhile ago but it never showed up??? yesterday i trimmed up a buch of ribs like edbro advised. seasoned them and put in the fridge overnite. then cleaned out firebox anf filled it up to the top of the fire ring. this morning i used two pieces of BGE starter and lite it then went to coffee shop and left it alone as i seem to be vent happy when i watch it. the bottom vent was open about 1/8" and the daisey wheel open about 1/2" whe i came home it was 300 put in 3 pieces of mesquite-place setter-drip pan with 1" of apple cider=4oz of mountain dew-grid with verticle rack full ribs after awhile the dome temp was only back to 200 but trying to be patient any advice? right or wrong?

61 CHEV,[p]The mass of the plate setter + the ribs + the liquid in the drip pan are heat sinks and are just stalling the temp for a while. It will rebound. Hope you let the mesquite smoke settle down, it's pow-er-ful stuff.[p]~thirdeye~
