Any suggestions on how to keep ribs warm for about 2 hours and still have them be fall off the bone tender? or any suggestions on how to reheat them to accomplish this. I have ribs on now to take to an afternoon superbowl party. The ribs should be done around 2:30 and we likely will eat around 4.
Thanks

  • stormyddog,
I've had success by wrapping them in the old Texas crutch (foil), then wrapping that in a towel and leaving them in a cooler until ready to serve. If you don't have a cooler, then the oven will serve the same purpose (off, of course)!

stormyddog,[p]If you need to stall the ribs, Smokin' Joe taught me to cook as usual for 3 hours, foil and go into a prewarmed cooler and hold there for a couple of hours. Then finish as usual for the last hour. This also gives you some time to cook some wings or hot links etc.[p]~thirdeye~

This works really well. I use crumpled newspaper instead of a blanket. The ribs will be HOT, even after several hours.[p]Toy Man

    stormyddog,
I use film 905. Purchased it at Sam's Club. It is a heavy duty cling wrap. It will stand temps up to 300 for holding or warming.[p]I wrap all my product in it & place them in a styrofoam container (ice chest of the cheaest variety).[p]The products stay too hot to touch for over 2 hours.[p]Some BBQ contest competitors place the products on a warming/smoke shelf.[p]Good Luck.
