Help! a friend just got a piece of "corned beef brisket" and asked me how to cook it.Being a salty month long EGGspert,I did the only thing possible,I said I,d let him know.NOW HELP, do you cook this like a regular brisket? There's lots of help on forum if you do, I just wonder if the corned stuff does different. Thanks for any help in easing my Ignorunce.

  • Bamabob,
Try indirect at about 225 degrees for about 1 and one half to two hours per lb.

Bamabob,[p]I think Fireball has given you good advise. I smoke corned beef often. It's good stuff![p]Smokey
  • Bamabob,[p]My first brisket I BGE'd was by accident. I didn't realize that you could buy just a plain brisket. I got the corned beef brisket and gave it a two day dry rub combination of the BGE spices, brown sugar and some ground thyme. Put it on fat (untrimmed) side up for 1 1/2 hours per pound. If you like pastrami, this is it! It's a totally different taste than a beef brisket.[p]Slice it thin against the grain, put it rye bread with mustard (and a brewski on the side)and you're in heaven!
