Simple turkey
Greetings
Friday night is upon us and Iam hosting a shin dig Sunday
I would like to do a turkey but am having trouble finding ideas in the archives.
I hope to find a fresh and big bird at the farmers market tommorow am
upwards of twenty lbs.
I could use some ideas on cooking temps,length of cook and bird preperation.
Thanks in advance for any help-now I am off to sear some steaks for my bro and his wife.

Doesn't look like anyone offered a Turkey solution yet - so here goes.[p]check out the following site for several "smoking turkey" ideas.

WW,[p]Try Geoff's 'Super Buzzard' from the recipe section (link below).[p]He suggests cooking at 250 for 25 minutes per pound. I prefer 300-325 for 15-20 minutes per pound; the skin gets browner/crispier.[p]Since cooking time can vary widely, check the internal temp to be sure it's done: 160 in the breast, 170 in the thigh.[p]Cathy
