Ceramic discoloration around the daisy wheel area

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
I am a new BGE owner (Large size) and after several uses I have noticed some brown spots-about 1/2 inch around in the area below the daisy wheel. Normal? Does not appear to be any falloff in capability.
Thanks
Bob THomas

    Bob Thomas,
Sounds like condensation from the daisy wheel that has baked onto the surface. These are usually easy to clean off with Bon Ami, Comet, etc.[p]Ken

    Bob Thomas,
if you put the daisy into the egg after each cook, as it is cooling, you'll pretty much keep it clean and 'seasoned' with minimal effort. every now and then you might loosely wipe off accumulated soot, but frankly that's gold to me. keeps the thing a bit more predicatable at temp control by sealing up the teensy cracks.[p]if you do that, you won't have any drips of brown goo during a cook. tho 'discoloration' is pretty normal at the neck of the chimney
