I have a 22 pound turkey on the egg, figuring about 5 1/2 hours for the cook but I was wondering how often I should baste and when I should start. I had rubbed the bird with butter white wine prior to the cook, any idea's
Thanks, Merry Christmas

    stormyddog,
I used to baste but gave it up, as Alton Brown pointed out that the skin is water proof so it doesn't really serve any purpose. Also you won't be opening the lid as much and losing heat. Good luck with the bird. -RP
