The EGG Family

I was talking to a fellow Egger last night that has been Eggin for several years and attended his first Eggtoberfest this year. His statment was along the lines of how good a time he had, how nice everyone was, how good the food was, and how everyone shared their knowledge. I was setting here thinking how this whole crowd is like one BIG FAMILY. We show concern for one anohter, we share with one another, we sometimes harass one another.and we all seem to love to cook and eat.
We,my wife and I, are new Eggers. We have been at it just a few years but in that we have gained a lot of EGG knowledge and made a great number of new Egg friends. We do some comps and also judge and have gotten to put faces with a lot of names. Several times someone has stopped and I'm so an so off of the Forum.
We have our own Family, our Egg family, and a BBQ Family and we would like to wish all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR or Happy Holidays if that works better.
Hope to see many of you in the up coming year and all of you have a n EGGIN god time.[p]Ms. Diane & Poppasam

    Poppasam,
I have to agree Sam. Some of the folks are crossing over into multiple family categories. I tend to look at good friends as family because I prefer to be able to pick and chose my family based on people's qualities as opposed to just having a genetic link.[p]You and Diane are one of the nicest couples I know and I am happy to have gotten to know both of you over the last year and I am looking forward to spending even more quality time this year.[p]So Merry Christmas to you and Ms. Diane and Happy Holidays to everyone in the extended Egg family as well as the BBQ family.

  • Poppasam,
Very nice. Very true.[p]Although most of our paths will never cross, we share a common bond that greatly enriches our lives.[p]Best Wishes to you and yours[p]Spring "Waiting For My New Small" Chicken

  • Poppasam,
I am a very new Egger since August of this year.I never would have bought an Egg if it hadn't been for the people on this forum.I am so happy to be an Egger and really enjoy reading the forum and asking questions.I hope to get out and meet some fellow Eggers in 06 at various Eggfests.
Thank you ALL for being great people.Everybody have a safe and happy Hoiday Season.I prefer to call it Christmas and New Years.

    Poppasam,
I couldn't agree more, I'm new to Egging but not to BBQ. I can't believe the difference in attitudes on this forum verses others like alt.food.barbeque. This forum and sites like the Whiz are the reason I bought an Egg and became an Egghead. My wife and I attended Eggtoberfest this year and, as long as I'm still breathing, will be attending many more. It was a pleasure meeting you and sampling your cooking. -RP

Poppasam,[p]I'll drink to all of that.
    Merry Christmas to you both.

  • I agree. My egg just arrived a few days ago. I would not have been so anxious for its delivery without this forum and the NakedWhiz's site in place.

    Poppasam,
It's wild isn't it? Forum and friends both start with F.
I hope you, Diane, and eggers everywhere have a righteous holiday season.[p]See you in 06!
