First time - Baby Backs on BGE

I've got three racks of baby backs I want to try on the BGE. I've had my egg for about a year, but never tried bbacks on it. Previously I've pre-cooked the ribs for 2-3 hours at 200 in the oven, then finished on the grill. [p]Looking for a recipe/pointers for doing them start to finish on the egg.[p]I don't have a rib rack. Would it make a huge difference if I did?[p]I was thinking of using my basic rub (primarily kosher salt and paprika, with other dry ingredients), and smoking them at ~250 for about 3-4 hours?

  • Dave,
Try the recipe on WWW.wessb.com it is the 3-1.5-1 method. i will be trying it for the first time today as well, but all I have been reading indicates it should be great.[p]Rob

  • Go with what Pete said. I have done them a number of ways. The 3-1-1 method works great. That middle "1" saves some of the moisture and the last "1" puts a little crisp back on them. Watch yourself removing them from the foil. Hot juices and the ribs may have a tendency to fall apart so be careful.
