<p />a steel band 3 1/4 inch in height - formed by the village welder to fit in the center of the top edge of the fire ring - very stable - used it twice and it eases the task of moving food to and from the grill[p]thanks timm for posting the photos

    Mr. Toad,
That looks good, for the mini it needs to be 1 1/2"x 9",any taller and it interferes with the top closing.

Mr. Toad,[p]That looks great. The village welder, huh? Will he accept commissions from Yankees?[p]Cathy

Mr. Toad,[p]I'm not sure about the new age smalls but for my old small I bought a new, extra fire ring. It warks great and the grill is now flush with the rim.[p]AndyR
  • Mr. Toad, Looks cool there Sire--althouth I had a little flashback when I saw it. Kinda reminds me of the top of a Honey Pot--Used them in Viet Nam--Some of you out there know what I am talking about.

Mr. Toad,[p]I like it - nice idea. Have you noticed any pros or cons with it??[p]Has anybody tried adding a second fire ring on top of the other one to see what that does?? I would if I had a second large Egg.[p]Tim
