Food Saver Help...

I have been in need of a food saver for some time. I was hoping Santa Clause might bring one but, I saw an ad in a Kohl’s flyer today. It lists a FoodSaver Vac 800 food sealer for $77.99. Reg $159.99. Sounds like a great deal, is this a good product at a good price? I really don’t know much about these and was hoping for some input. Is this the way to go or is there another product I should look at?

    I have a Food Saver and really love it. It works as advertised and if you have a large freezer, you can really save when meats and things come on sale.[p]Uncle Phil

    Whitetail, Just yesterday I called the folks at the below web site. After getting some tips on using my newer Foodsaver I asked if I could send my old Bagvac for repair and was told that they had a special on refurbished Bagvacs with full warranty, bags, a roll of matterial. All for just $29.99 plus shipping. I bought 2. One for a backup and another for a friend. The number is 800-777-5452 if the link below does not work.

    Whitetail,[p]I bought this exact model at Kohls for the same price (plus we were able to take another 20% off due to another promo) and have already used it to freeze brisket, pizza and pulled pork... We have been nothing but satisfied with and and have no problems recommending it... You cant beat the unit for the price...[p]GW

    It pretty much doubles the time you can keep things frozen. They give you a VHS tape to watch and in the paper work it also tells you. Can't seem to find mine at the moment. Originally my wife was against getting one then the kids gave me one as a b'day gift now, she can't say enough about it. Wouldn't be without one ever again.
