New carrier for the Mini

Morning All:[p]The other day Borders gave me the dimensions for the carrier for his mini and I had been wanting to build one for our new mini, so after he provided his information and a picture I went to work creating mine with a couple of modifications.[p]The day we won the mini in a raffle we were with BlueSmoke and Diana and noticed that Ken had the internals in a plastic bag when actually tranporting the egg, so I figured I could make a small storage place as part of the overall carrier. Plus I wanted some way to carry it easier than just under the edge of the top of the carrier.[p]Therefore here is the finished product:[p][p]I added the handles on each side by making the top slightly larger than the base and cut hand holes and added the section below to store the internals while transporting.[p]Here is a better picture of the lower section with the door part way open. It is held in place by magnetic cabinet catches, one on each side(see right side).[p][p]And here I am holding it for carrying by one person (or one on each side if you want).[p][p]The only thing I messed up was on the height of the storage area underneath for the internals. I should have made it about 1/4" taller because I can't quite get the cooking grid in (should have been 4-3/4" instead of 4-1/2").[p]Other than adding the lower compartment and making the top slightly wider for the handles, the dimensions Borders provided the other day are appropriate.[p]I will be bringing it to Atlanta this weekend if anyone wants a closer look.[p]Have a GREAT day!

SSN686,
I like the idea of the magnetic clips to hold the front in place. I am making a table for my small and instead of a drawer maybe I will just put a front panel like you did. Did you get the magnets at Home Depot or Lowes?
Everyday is Saturday and tomorrow is always Sunday. -
Morning Retired RailRoader:[p]Actually I got them at Ace Hardware. My first thought was to make the front panel slide into a groove, but I didn't want to go to the effort to route the groove so I went to Ace and looked over the options and these made the most sense. [p]Have a GREAT day!

SSN686,
Thanks for the information. Now that the Jets have won and Dallas is beating up Philly I can not wait to see how my Giants do against Dallas's Big "D".
Everyday is Saturday and tomorrow is always Sunday. -
SSN686,[p]Nice job![p]Tonia
