Question for Spring Chicken
Kinger
Posts: 147
Spring Chicken,[p]I was searching the archives and learned that you researched buying either a medium or a small as your second egg. Which did you ultimately choose? If you had it to do over would you make the same choice? I am pondering my second egg purchase and am leaning toward the small for tailgate parties etc. I also like to sear steaks a lot. Will it get as hot as the large?[p]JNK

JNK,
It's 3:00 AM and that's just one of the many things that keeps me awake at night - indecision. I still haven't made the purchase and I don't know when it's going to happen.[p]I want a small because it is a practical size for most of my cooks, and it is a great deal more portable than the medium or large. Plus, it would fit well with an RV lifestyle which is on hold due to my vision problems.[p]I think if I was leaning toward the medium, I would just go ahead and get another large. Ideally, another large, a medium, a small and a mini would work too.[p]In answer to your question on heat, yes the small will get as hot as the large. Just look at some of the TRex Steak photos people have posted. More than enough heat for searing. For that matter, the mini should do it too.[p]If you are tailgating, I say go for the small and take some clues from the "transporters" people built to make it even more practical.[p]Good luck.[p]Spring "Up Early Again" Chicken
