hogman,[p]It usually happens when the cooker sits without being used and there is moisture in the air. Pull the grid out and wash it, and just fire the egg up and let it stabalize for a while to heat things up and burn off the nasties.[p]Fire that thing up a bit more and you shouldn't have a problem. We have 5 cookers, so we rotate them, so that they all get used regularly. [p]Tonia

hogman,
It happens to eggs that sit awhile in damp conditions. Mold needs a damp enviroment to grow so your egg is damp on the inside and when mold spores float into the egg it finds a nice place to grow. To kill the mold fire up the egg and let it chug along at 400 degrees dome for several hours without food cooking. This will sterilize the egg. To help keep the mold from growing again use a vinyl cover so the egg will be dry. BGE sells a vinyl cover.
Good luck,
Clay
