? Regarding aligning lid with the bottom

Hi All,
I just replaced my gasket and now found that my lid does not align with the lower portion of the egg. That is, the lid does not sit perfectly on the lower portion. I'm not sure if that is how it was before. How do I correct this? I didn't want to play with the hinge screws in fear of messing it up further so I decided to ask here first.
I tightened the bolts on the metal clamps that go around the egg as per TNW website.
Thanks
