Smoke - bad for you ?

I would like to know if eating smoked food is bad for your health. After I get my Egg I plan to use it 2-3 times a week.

Dec,
I have never heard anything like that. If anything, smoke helps preserve the meat naturally.[p]The only health risk I have heard of, is from high temp searing. Supposedly there are some possible carcinogens that are created when the food is charred over high heat....but I am not sure what's been proven there.[p]As far as I know, smoke away!!

Nature Boy,
This is not on this topic but I'm doing your Ginger Mahogany ribs tomorrow night. Do you use any wood chips during the cook?

JimW,
Cool!! I almost always use a little wood with ribs. Last time was great...1 chunk of hickory, 2 chunks cherry stuck right in the hot coals at the start of the cook.[p]Have fun!!
Happy freedom.
