fishlessman,[p]Well, since you didn't call me when it was ready... it sure sounds good anyway!! [p]
I remember as a kid, at the county fair they would always bbq chickens with Lemonaid (I think)...I've never been able to re-create the flavor.[p]It may also be what I call "Twinkie Syndrome"....where something you loved as a child, never quite tastes the way you remember it![p]
Evans[p]PS... One thing....I'm getting a "Karate Kid" vibe from that bird!![p]LOL!!!
I spent most of my money on good bourbon, and bad women...the rest, I just wasted!! -
fishlessman,
That looks like some evil bird about to fly off the plate and devour an unsuspecting cook. BTW, did you ever mail your wading staff? If so, it never arrived.[p]Just checking.[p]Mike

Chubby,[p]re: the "Twinkie Syndrome":[p]As a child, I loved Twinkies. They were so moist & spongy on the outside, and so sweet and creamy on the inside. So in August of 1960, when I was a lad of just 8, I set aside a Twinkie in its original wrapping so that in my middle years I could enjoy the sweet, creamy taste of the Twinkie.[p]So fast-forward to August of 2005, a mere 45 years later. I knew the time was right to relive the glorious days of summer, 1960. So I retrieved the Twinkie of my youth, and examined it in its little cellophane wrap in anticipation. Wow these things are a wonder of preservation! Not a sag, wrinkle, or gray hair anywhere to be seen. I opened up the wrapping, and nibbled a bit off the end. Hmmm, not yet to the creamy part. Another bite, yep, there is the sweet, creamy filling. But, wait a minute. The taste is somewhat flat. The spongy cake wrapping is a bit mealy. The sweet creamy filling is a bit gummy. Huh. So much for for the Twinkies of my youth.[p]Wonder what I'll find when I open my little sample I tucked away in the summer of 1970?[p]Chuck
