Beer Butt Chicken in a Mini

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
Hey, guys. Thinking about getting a mini to go with my large egg. Question: is a mini big enough to cook a beer butt chicken (or two)? Thinking about taking it to the shore, but only if I can get a decent amount of food on it. Thanks!

Douglas Reed,[p]I think you may have a height issue.[p]Smokey

    Smokey,
Would a shot glass cornish game hen fit?

  • Douglas Reed,[p]You really don't have enough height to put even a small chicken in the cooker upright. However, with the right indirect setup, you can cook a whole fryer on its back if it is not over about 3-1/2 pound. You can also do a small pork butt up to about 4-5 pounds. Both of these cooks and cooks like them are more difficult as compared to a larger Egg but they can be done. [p]Dave
