How do I use a drip pan with my BGE rotisserie?

Hey all! I got a rotisserie (official bge) for my large bge for Christmas and just started using it. I did a whole chicken last week and found that I couldn’t use it with the plate setter in place - even trussed the bird would scrape on the plate setter and I couldn’t get a drip pan under there. Even with a grate sitting on top of the fire ring, I had contact between the bird and the grate. I ended up doing it direct with no grate, and while it worked out (no flare ups), I had hoped to put potatoes into the drip pan and cook them in the rendered fat.
Is there something I’m missing on how to fit this? I’m trying a duck today, taking out the fire ring and putting the grate down closer to the fire and the drip pan on that. Hopefully that creates enough of an indirect effect. But do those of you using this use smaller grates/ plate setter when you use the rotisserie? It seems like the spit sits very low (basically just over the rim) and the thing being cooked will likely scrape the grate or plate setter.
Thanks in advance!

So rotisserie cooks are usually direct, so no need to use the plate setter. You can also give yourself more room for a drip pan by pushing all the coals up and to the back. Then just rest the pan with potatoes or whatever else you want to cook on the bottom grate or basket. Best taters ever!
