Tomahawk Steak

I need some help. I was given from my girls for Christmas two Tomahawk steaks. They are frozen. And these two steaks are not what you normally see online. Not Wagyu 4 inches wide. Just 2 nice ribeyes. My goal is cook it on my mini or mm. How I cut off the big bone? I’ve never done this.
Thanks

  • Cool gift!

Most people would gravitate towards a butcher’s bone saw. If that’s not an option, if ever they were purchased at a local butcher’s shop, I’d take them in and ask them to hack off the excess (that bone was paid for during the weigh-in anyway).

However, if it were me, I’d probably just cook them via an alternative method that didn’t require hacking (e.g., gasser, pan searing then into the oven, etc.).

Have fun, and be sure to post results!
