Anyone with an XL using this basket and is it worth it? Thanks in advance!
Northern Colorado Egghead since 2012.
XL BGE and a KBQ.

I would say that any basket is worth it. I use the BGE ones, but I'd guess that there are as many KAB users as BGEB users - perhaps more.~~
i get given so much food and treats for Christmas that by the time I finish them all it will be Easter and I will have the same shape as an egg. Rather fitting I think. -
I have the KAB and a divider and love both. Basket makes clean up easier and faster. They say there’s a temp limit so I use the original base thing for pizza; otherwise, the basket stays in the XL.XL (2013)

There might be something about that temp limit. I had a KAB in the mini max and went through 2 fire bowls and a base. The LG gets the low temps. The mini max is usually high temp.LBGE St. Louis MO

I hadn’t heard about temp limits, and I run KAB/B in all five of my BGEs.Please elaborate!Large BGE and Medium BGE

BGE bases, fire boxes, and fire rings all were cracking long before the Kick Ash Basket was around. BGE distributors tried to blame them to get out of warranty claims, then they came out with their own basket, soooooo?

Well, I am pleased to report that the last year I’ve had no cracked fire bowls or bases since trashing the Kick Ash Basket. You can ignore my experience if you’d like.LBGE St. Louis MO

I run the KAB on my XL and I cant imagine not using it. I pick it up every cook and shake the ash loose, then look inside if it needs to be emptied. If so I just put it on the ground and clean out ash, so much easier to see whats going on vs the original grate.
Im on my 3rd base (which is cracked), this egg was a gift to me and Ive limped through some warranty help in the past thats no more. Looking to buy a whole new XL in the coming months and have all the paperwork in my name.XLBGE, LBGE, Charbroil Gas Grill, Weber Q200, Old Weber Kettle, Rectec RT-B380, Yeti 65, Yeti Hopper 20, RTIC 20, RTIC 20 Soft Side - Too many drinkware vessels to mention.

Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting. The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president. -
I too cracked my base immediately after getting a kick ash basket, so now I still use it but I leave the steal grate in that came with the egg. Also bought a pizza oven for high tempsSouth of Columbus, Ohio.

I use my KAB 100% of the time, do a pizza every other week, reverse sear at ~550-600 F, and haven't cracked my base or fire bowl.
