nothing special, just dinner

Shepherds pie and while the fire was on, roasted a butternut for future soup (although some of the neck was sliced up for dinner as well).

did both for about an hour at 375F and then removed the assembly and put the butternut face down on the SS grill for some charring. could have left in on for a bit more, but it was starting to soften up real fast that way.

We've had rain almost solid for 3 weeks, between that and being at home in time to cook, this was the first fire in 19 days. I was getting twitchy. 







you can see in the last picture that the mashed potato peaks got nicely toasted. Always been a sucker for that.
