1/4 inch thick ribeye steaks?

must be a new ploy to sell beef with todays prices, 6 bucks per quarter pound =) probably cook them for burgers tomorrow. any ideas, marinate in lime juice ... partially freeze before a sear? outside my wheel house. maybe a little sugar to quicken the sear?

This place has come down hard on the 1/2 inch steaks in the past-definitely a new challenge.
Given you've got more than one to mess with I would chill (partial freeze for say 20-30 minutes) one and then cave man it around 30-40 seconds/side.  After that...
Easy for me to suggest ways to mess with $24/lb steak.
Let us know how this turns out.

i think im going to marinate it in a lime mexican cumin type marinade at room temp, do the partial freeze thing like for thin pork chops, then sear and serve it as a burger with guac and pico. with beef prices lately the store must be looking  to change things up. started getting flanken style beef ribs a few months back at this store as well which is a good thing
