Below you have what the internet tells you is unappetizing in appearance but safe to eat. A green fried egg.  By internet I mean “first page of search results and it could be all AI created ‘expert’ sites. It was a to-go order so I called them. The bagel place told me over the phone it was common when the eggs made fresh this morning sit in water.  It didn’t smell off and I opted to chuck the egg and adjacent ham and eat the rest.

 Was the egg poached somehow? You will have that when you overcook hard boiled eggs.

I used some advanced AI techniques and was able to determine it's the sulfur in the whites reacting with iron in the cooking surface (or iron in the yolk with boiled eggs) and is exacerbated by cooking too hot.
