Hoping to get some suggestions on replacing the dome thermometer on my Large. I want a short stem to give me room with cooking raised indirect.
Any and all suggestions are welcomed - THANKS in advance

just in case— if your current thermometer is working, there are ways to have it go less far into the dome. push it through a wine cork and remove the internal brace—- or something like that. i have not done this because when the therm hits something in my egg, i can usually adjust the position of the raised grid.

I thought that the stem was a good guide to not being so close to the dome that I get in the way of air circulation.~~

I’ve been through a lot of them, including Smokeware. Ultimately, I have landed back at the Green Egg ones (Tel-Tru). I also have started bringing them in when not in use. I leave everything else out in the elements, but not my thermometers.

I simply use the grid probe from my Thermoworks Smoke X4. It fits in the same hole as the BGE Dial thermometer. If the cook is going to go over ~550 F, such as a reverse sear, then I have to resort to the analogue thermometer.
