Eggtoberfest offering refunds (or donation to Helene victims)

Very kind of them. And interesting that they would even offer refunds. Why would I deserve a refund? I had an amazing time and ate 10X more food than my ticket cost 😂. Not to mention the beer too 😬.

  • It was a little confusing to me also.  It seems like the norm would be “all revenue from Eggtoberfest tickets will be donated.”  It’s already BGE’s money and we got our moneys worth like you said.

By offering the refund maybe they are covering situations where people would have chosen a different donation recipient. This enables them to donate it on their own.  If someone just gets a refund and pockets it, well, then hopefully they have sufficient reason or need.

i took it to mean people who could not make eggfest due to the disaster would be given a refund.

  • Think I got it now. Cook deposits are refundable.  My guess is the email was accidentally sent out to tasters as well.  I didn’t try the refund link obviously so hopefully that link only works for cook deposits and not taster tickets.

From my experience as a cook, it's a refundable deposit to discourage no shows.

At the last fest we cooked at few years ago, each cook team also received a loot bag of goodies valued over $500 IIRC. It was gravy on top of a Fun day.

Right. They just sent out a correction email clarifying that.
