Firebox and fire ring change?

So I had a warranty replacement today.   New firebox and fire ring.   When did they change the height of the fire ring on the large egg?  I was at felt level with my CGS rig.  Now I'm 3/4" below.   Ace made me turn in my old ring and now I'm stuck below the felt.   Disappointed.

    Could be worse......sometime decades ago they changed the internal dimensions of the Medium.  I went to replace the firebox and fire ring, and neither would fit inside.  After many emails, measurements, etc they replaced the base for me, but then it didn't match the dome.  So ended up nearly getting a whole new Egg one piece at a time over the course of a two months.

    Hopefully that won't be the case here.   I've got a small crack in my base but haven't taken that any further to submit a claim
