Info on the mini ( not the mini max)

I recently picked up a mini and the top seems loose to me - has some play. There are no counter balance springs so I’m guessing that’s the reason. The bands are tight and the misc bolts are tight. Is this nature of the beast or am I missing something? Thanks!
One large BGE in Louisville, KY.

When I had one, the dome always felt loose. As long as your bolts are tight, you’re good.

I have one, and the dome feels secure. The hold-open link, though, seems to really prefer to be in the open & latched position if the dome is up.

My Mini which my wife bot me as a surprise b/d gift gets very little use, but the band is tight.
It is a helluva high heat grilling machine when using the dome wide open. Perhaps the previous owner OFTEN used it with the dome closed which warped those cheap bands from China.

Mine has had play from day one. Bands are tight but dome is wiggly of sorts when opening and closing.

Mine has always felt loose, nothing like my other ones.  Works great still.
