Water Proofing Egg Genius

I love my Egg Genius. Set the pit temp for a long, slow cook and go to bed UNLESS rainy weather threatens. The manufacture confirms the controller is not rated water proof and recommends construction of a foil tent over the controller to protect it from rain. Unfortunately no pictures are provided.
Has anyone tried this or come up with a better solution?

Welcome. I made these covers years ago for my Stoker fans.

If you're handy with a fine-tooth saw or Dremel, I'd buy a large plastic glass/tumbler, cut a retangular slot in the side, and slide it over the unit inverted.

I put my controller in a big plastic bag that I have and tuck it under the controller.

I bought a waterproof box and drilled a hole in the bottom for the wires for the controller. I let the fan hang out no matter the weather, I do tilt the open side downwards. Yours seems to be a one piece unit. I'd get a plastic container that was large enough to brace on the nest or table above it.

@Eggs_Rule no weather-proofing here.
Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey. Above all, have fun.
A thought-get comfortable with manual temperature control in the event your Genius dies in the middle of a cook. Always good to have a back-up plan. FWIW-
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
I really like that idea. Thank you.
