grilling with lid open!

Grilling with the lid up is not what the Green Egg is intended for!! this will burn and ruin the seals. Use the GE with lid down as an oven after searing on another BBQ this is what it was intended for!   in my opinion.   Ide'F

  • A lot of things will burn and ruin the stock gaskets. This is great news, as it paves the way for a Rutland.

LOL.  I bet you would be shocked to know I don't even have a gasket on the lid of my medium, and the nomex on the base is so packed and complressed it mostly just keeps impacts off the cermaic..

Don't tell your problems to people.  80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.

It just peeled right off in one piece.  Way easier than peeling a burnt gasket off.
