Roast chicken and poutine ... classic family comfort food for a Saturday

My sister-in-law and niece are staying over, and requested some simple comfort food. Given that she's married to a native of Montreal, who espouses the virtues of poutine whenever he can, I decided to cook a brace of chickens in the large and serve with poutine. It was an interesting experience, as I had not cooked two chickens together in the past. It took significantly longer than I thought it would. I also thought that the chicken closer to the outside would cook faster, however a few tests with my trusty thermapen showed that the chickens were cooking uniformly. Colour me surprised.

The chickens just before they were pulled:

Served with poutine, yes @paqman usjbg shredded cheese 😃

My niece wanted fries, so I served her some in a restaurant style basket, which she loved … although she tried poutine and really liked it:

All enjoyed with a bottle of Bread and Butter Pinot Noir.

Thanks for looking!

    Paging poutine police! j/k
Beautiful cook and presentation as usual. Did you catch the drippings for poutine gravy? Being non-French canuck I have yet to get my feet wet in poutine

    Edit:

    Look like chips to me

I didn't catch the dripping for the poutine, that's a really good idea, will do that next time.
