Smokeware Charcoal basket vs KAB

I see a couple of post from years ago on this topic but not much feedback as far as how well this product works.
Does anyone use the Smokeware Charcoal basket? How does it perform compared to the KickAsh basket? I was concerned that the bowl design would block the air holes in the firebox but the BGE basket looks the same. The KAB is $142 and the dog bowl ash can is north of $75!! Not to mention the BGE basket is north of $200. I have an XL. The Smokeware is $86. All of these prices seem off the charts ridiculous to me but wondering if saving a few shekels here is worth it or if I should just pay for better known brand? Not to mention, I've been using my XL for years with just the standard setup so don't know that I even need any of these. Looking forward to your feedback

I believe the consensus was that the KAB wasn't really needed for the XL BGE. It might help with cleaning out your BGE but for air flow it wasn't worth the price of admission.

Save your cash. You don’t need any of it for an XL.

Appreciate it fellas! You just saved me some money

The basket was my favorite fix for the XL......get rid of the stupid sewer plate that cracked easily, where the fire was usually hotter toward the back, then it made it easier to clean--especially with the can. Love the KAB. Every BGE I sold out if my store, I included one.

^^^smart business move, faster and hotter burn = more lump j/kcanuckland

You can burn an entire bag of charcoal (or 2) in the XL before it needs cleaning. Just rake out the ash into the empty charcoal bag and toss it. It doesn’t get easier than that.

I may not "need" the basket, but I sure do enjoy the ease of having it.
Pick it up and shake the ash out.
Its so easy to take it out and easily clean the ash out
I couldnt imagine not having it.XLBGE, LBGE, Charbroil Gas Grill, Weber Q2000, Old Weber Kettle, Rectec RT-B380, Yeti 65, Yeti Hopper 20, RTIC 20, RTIC 20 Soft Side - Too many drinkware vessels to mention.
Not quite in Austin, TX City Limits
Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting. The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.
