Hi Eggheads,
I needed to take my right hand retractable shelf off my LBGE when using the Rotisserie. Does anyone have a profile enabling me to cut the shelf to Eggccommodate the motor?
Best regards Ide'F

I think you can flip the motor upside down and it still slots in?
Maybe your purpose in life is only to serve as an example for others? - LPL

Thanks for that Ossie, I will give that a try 🪬

I am able to just leave the shelf lowered and it doesn't interfere with the rotisserieXLBGE, LBGE, MBGE, SMALL, MINI, 2 Kubs, Fire Magic Gasser

Appreciate your help. However I can’t see the Motor or The shelf down. Can you take another image and show me please thanks. Ide’F

@deFriend All of my rotisserie pics were of the food but I braved the SoCal winter weather to take these. I took the one of the back of the motor to show that you can't change the orientation.

@td66snrf
you woke up the hacker in me! assuming you can mount the motor upside down, making sure that the square hole in the drive shaft still lines up with the spit, will it still interfere with raising the shelf?

Hold it. I believe OP has the BGE Rotisserie(?) whereas @td66snrf's is Jotisserie. Apples and oranges as far as dimensions and profiles go.

@Canugghead
You are correct. Mine is the red brand. I wondered why there was an issue with the right shelf. Joe's motor is on the left.

@td66snrf yup, didn't want you to risk getting hyperthermia measuring again
@deFriend unlike Jotisserie which has the square hole near the top, it appears BGE Rotisserie's square hole is centered vertically, so it's not going to work even if you are able to flip it upside down. Bad design, they should have the motor housing engage horizontally instead.

Thanks for trying. Will still need to take off the shelf! Ide’F

Perhaps this way is easier than using a contour gauge...
Install a cardboard shelf, make a cutout and use it as template. The straight Green cuts should be easy to locate, make the Red cuts progressively until it fits, if you cut too deep just patch it up.
After you mark the cutout on the shelf, don't cut it yet. Install the marked shelf and raise it until it hits the motor, now you can eyeball and make sure they line up. Adjust as needed.
