XL NEST plus handler or integrated nest handler or nest only

After looking at the responses to my other post, I and wondering which would be best. XL NEST---XL NEST plus handler---or integrated nest handler.

I believe you mentioned that you roll your BGE in/out of your garage? The handler might be nice. I've have a brand new boxed up handler for my Large that I've yet to use. I've been rolling my egg in/out of the garage for 10+ years without issue. The problem I have is that the handler adds a good amount of depth to the overall circumference of the BGE and the space it needs in the garage. Otherwise I would have tossed it on the BGE as I'd imagine it would come in super handy for rolling around. The integrated nest might be a little more compact but I can't confirm.

  • I have a XL with a nest & handler.  When I kept my XL in the garage, the handler was a blessing to me.  Especially with my driveway being maybe 1/2 inch lower than the garage slab.  Now the XL lives on the veranda and the handler is handy for moving the XL around.  I swap positions with my Blackstone from time to time.  The unused equipment gets pushed back to the house.

The integrated nest/handler requires the newest hardware / bands / hinges.  If your egg doesn't have those bands, don't buy the integrated nest, unless you want to upgrade.  The integrated handler/nest is very nice, but it requires the new hardware.

If you move it, I'd get the handler.  Otherwise, it is loose in the nest.

    Integrated.

I like it better than the handler and nest.

Easier to move and not as clunky looking
