Birthday dinner for my much better half...

Morning All:
My much better half celebrated her birthday today so had to do something a little special...a 3.5 pound picanha sounded good to me...normally I have cut the picanha into about 4 strips & used the swords to grill it, but tonight I wanted to do something different so I left it whole...used a light sprinkle of Dizzy Pig Raising the Steaks & a lot of Kosher salt & onto the large Egg direct with dome temp about 360 degrees...
It took about 30 to 35 minutes until the internal temp was about 120/125 on the ends & 115 in the thickest part...ready to come off the Egg to rest for a few minutes...
Cut a few slices with the grain...looks soooooo good...
Added a baked sweet potato for me & a baked white potato for her along with a small salad, it made for a delicious birthday dinner (my plate)...
The picanha was so tender...the only downside to cooking it this way instead of using the swords is that there isn't as much "salty crust", but it was still fantastic.

I’d say both halves are pretty swell. Looks great!

That is my favorite piece of beef. And I never knew it until I was 52.
I need to buy another one, soon! Thanks for the inspiration.Clinton, Iowa -
