Pita Bread (Big Green Egg’s Recipe)

Pulled out the big green egg cookbook and gave the pita bread recipe a whirl. I usually don’t fare too well with baking, so this was a success for me.

Got some chicken and veggies marinating to go with it later, along with tzatziki. Might emulsify some of the veggies after they cook up, to see if my kids might be convinced to dip the bread in it.

Will post another pic or two later, unless it sucks.  :)

Thx!  They loved the chicken and bread, but not fooled by the emulsified veggies.

Thx sir!  Might dabble with a homemade pimento cheese this weekend. Need to figure out how Cava’s seasons and repurpose their pita chips too, as I have a bunch leftover.

What a project and incredible outcome right there.  As always, nailed the cook.  Congrats.

@GrateEggspectations - I love that kid eating incentive your wife employs.  At what age of your kids did that become the rule?

Soft launch from a young age before being applied rather rigorously at the age of three to four. There were some difficult moments initially, but the benefits quickly revealed themselves and once the kids knew what was what, compliance was absolute.

Funny story…. We stayed with friends (you’d recognize their rides) at their place in Florida for an extended period in March of 2022. Their kids are very difficult eaters; we’re talking extreme cases. From day one, my wife had their three girls finishing plates of fruit they otherwise never would have touched. This, from the very first day there.

I’d say she has a gift.
