VERY early STCG!

This... is Gold.
This Sam video was posted on ewetube ten years ago, but at the end of the video the copyright was listed as 2004; nearly twenty years ago!  His local TV show, so its about 24 minutes long.  Fascinating to watch; a lot of constants from the early days, but a lot of changes too:

- Sam himself hasn't really aged, at all

- He makes three "comfort" foods, based on a) mac-n-cheese out of a blue and gold box, b) three riffs on potatoes, using "instant" mashed potatoes, and c) a nasty-looking freezer pastry topped with cheese-and-ketchup-sauced shrimp; egads.

- He burns himself, badly, establishing a long-standing STCG tradition, yay!

- We get to meet his early pooch, an old Goldie named "Haley"; RIP Haley.

- We also get to see his original, fugly kitchen, before he had it remodeled to its current hideous state (sorry, those zebrawood cabinets against multicolored-but-mostly-garish-red tiles sear my eyeballs.)

-  Snarky text comments were established, again a long-standing STCG tradition.  I'm guessing Max was still in gradeschool here so it may be from the lady camera-person.

- ...and glad they advanced from the short focal-length lenses, some of the closeups were... ugh.

- Today a small squad of Bug-ASalt sharpshooters keep the video set bug-free; in those days they used clear plastic cups (and showed too much mercy).

- This video only has 37 responses; it might be fun to completely flood it with BGE-related responses, throwing confusion and pause into the Sam camp.

I use to watch his show all the time back in those days. I used to be a Cox cable customer in the 1990's. Cox's hq was in San Diego at the time and the Cox corp. cable channel used to run his tv show a couple times a week. Watched it for years up to the point where he did his indoor kitchen remodel (I agree, it's a little to mod for my taste). Then we dumped Cox and switched to  Verizon.
When we switched to Verizon his show just fell off my radar until I came across it on YouTube a few years ago. I watch it occasionally - I like his show (and have all his cookbooks) but I find his schtick to be rather tiresome at times.
