Chama Charcoal anyone?

Found this heavily discounted at my local Central Market yesterday.  Claims to be special and all that, blah, blah, blah.  Claim is that it uses a special manufacturing technique to fully carbonize it and therefore no smoke or flavor.  It appears that it is made mainly for hookahs.

Did an internet search, but didn't turn up much and the search here was crickets.

I think I dated something called a hookah in high school. You're doing the wrong internet search, it wasn't until I played around with the spelling for hookah that I found one.

Bought a bag and have to say, it is as advertised.  I didn't get back to buy more and I'm sure it's not on sale any more.  Regular price was $2/lb., but the sale price war about $0.90/lb.  A GREAT deal at the sale price.  I can't justify any charcoal for $2/lb. though.

At that price, for “no flavor”, I’d likely pass.

For hookahs, or poor man’s binchotan, may be worth a whirl. Hard pass at $2/lb
