A possibly groundbreaking, perhaps Orwellian, use for AI?

This is an idea that's been bouncing around in my dusty cranium for awhile now, thought I'd throw it out for you all to add to, clarify, debunk, or openly mock.

Two recent trends here in the US have really bothered me.
1)  The organization of magats, via the internet, to gather and violently attack institutions,
2)  The organization of thugs, via the internet, to smash-n-grab, and completely rob businesses, be they jewelry stores, Apple* stores, or even beauty salons (???).

Folks can now query GPT, Bard, and other programs that seem to be able to scrub the entire 'net for recent info, tidbits, etc and put together a mostly-accurate story about whatever subject you request.  While I do read up on AI a fair amount, I'm still not very smart on how it works, much less the intranetz itself.  Would there be a way  for AI to track violent posts from the magats, vs airline ticket/gas purchases/hotel reservations; or link mob attack coordination traffic to eBay sales/offers of watches, iPhones*, or wigs, in the Philadelphia area?

I know the feds knew about increased "net traffic"/buzz from extremist organizations in the days leading up to January 6, but I don't have any feel for how much of that traffic (some/most/ nearly all?) was over "encrypted" channels, nor how much access AI has to encrypted stuff (they can't read our credit card purchases, mostly.../yet...).  I also don't have any feel for how much these smash-n-grab crimes are encrypted, although I'm thinking its much less; can AI see those discussions, and match up those posts to related eBay posts/pawnshop sales that match theft records?  I don't know.

I know this idea will make some uncomfortable, "Big Brother" and all; but we should all realize the US oligarchs are already tracking a lot of this stuff (including credit card info); I'm just wondering if there's a way to use AI to tamp down the two areas I mentioned above; I don't see any other clear solutions other than remote cameras (which have solved/ exposed some longstanding problems in this country in the last ten years or so).

* I read a blurb earlier today that, once looted Apple stores could report the stolen inventories to their Mothership, those phones/computers/watches were bricked AND their "Find My" functions were enabled, so there may be a significant increase in arrests for at least some of these thefts.  A few surprised faces soon, good!  Maybe 5 years from now we'll see tracking chips in ARs, analog watches, and even wigs?

You should read up on Palantir (Peter Thiel's company) and that all the public cctv's aren't really all that great at solving/reducing crime (at least on a value proposition).

Also, precogs don't really exist. :)

@Botch - Those things you describe have been going on for over a decade, right in your backyard, in Bluffdale, UT.
Thanks to William Binney and Edward Snowden we know the NSA captures and stores all forms of electronic communications, including the troves of data at rest hoarded by the "oligarchs".
I take it on faith the operations are fighting evil, just not necessarily focused on US citizens.  The concept of evidence obtained by warrantless searches comes into play there.  To open up that data mining for the situations you propose is a bit scary to me.  In unscrupulous hands it could be used to create massive evil.
