This is really an under-appreciated cook, IMO. Lotsa places make good ribs, brisket, etc., and it often tastes similar/same. But, if they can pull off great turkey... that's a win.

Very nice cook. I have done the turkey breast cook a number of times. I finally settled on breaking the breast down into the two sides- it seems to make the cook easier to manage and promotes even cooking. The breast I like to cook haven't been available since Covid. The last breast I cooked turned out fantastic- the 1/2 breast section weighed a bit over 7 pounds- That would have been 14 pounds for both sections- clearly a huge Turkey. These breast are special order, and the butcher says he can't get them anymore.

I think I will try cooking one breast like you cooked- It will be more readily available and I'm sure if mine turns out as good as yours did- I will be in for a great meal

I was just thinking about this cook the other day. I've only done it once and need to do it again. This time I'll do it on my offset.

  • I love smoked turkey breast but I have a problem finding breasts that aren’t packed with solution. Makes the texture turn out weird.
