Fogo Grill Plate

Was watching a video by Fogo showing them make meatloaf on the BGE. Instead of using a cedar plank - he said he didnt have any ;) but he just happened to have a Fogo "grill plate". Specifically, their Romertopf Rectangular Pan with Grill Nibs. Do you use this or any other ceramic grill plate? If so, what do you find it works best for? Looked effective but wondering if this is solving a problem I dont currently have :)

    To each his own…

but for many years now I have used one of those “wire meatloaf baskets” which allows the grease to flow out which even bakes the meatloaf while it gets smoked “surround town”!

I have always just taken a sheet of thick aluminum foil and folded it over a few times......then poke a bunch of holes in the bottom with a skewer.  Wire rack would work too.

Thanks for the replies. I had a cedar plank and all turned out great. I was more thinking about other scenarios (not just meatloaf) whereby one might use this.
