Blood rare

The first time I ordered a steak blood rare was in Fort Worth, Texas. Seared on the outside with a cold/cool center, so tender and cut like butter. Since I'm craving and at camp alone...
One an a half pound rideye

Mini max at 600°, 60 seconds a side

Rested long enough to open a beverage and sit down.

Mrs.C does not share my enthusiasm for blood rare

Oh my goodness. Almost "blue". Love it that way, but alas we have the same Mrs issues.

Home run on a bachelor night. Nice job.

That is a great way to take advantage of the window of opportunity.  Beautiful right there.  Best $$ shot I have seen here in quite some time.

While I applaud your beverage choice I'm afraid the steak wouldn't work for me so I say let's celebrate our differences here.

    Lovely work, there.
I've seen reference to 'Pittsburgh rare' - not sure if that's just a fancy name for rare steak, or a specific method.    Either way, charred to give a crips bark and red centre is my choice too.

Other girls may try to take me away
But you know, it's by your side I will stay

Looks great.  I’ve never heard it called blood rare.  I’d call that black and blue

As long as it is warm in the middle is OK with me.

I like it so rare that a talented veterinarian could get it back on it's feet.

All it needs is a side of aloe vera.

I have been cooking my steaks (especially tenderloins) to 'black and blue' for a while. I like the contrast between the soft juicy interior and the dark and crunchy exterior.

I always considered 'Pittsburgh Rare' to by the same as 'black and blue' but I could be wrong.  'Blood rare' is not a term that I had heard before now but it seems in the same vein as the former.

Scorch the outside and bring the rest to body temperature? Not my bag man. Medium rare is perfect to me.

My pedanticism is coming out.  I love the cook and have admired it for days ..... But, there is no blood in it.  That is meat juice.
