Carbon Steel on the Egg - DARTO

Just received an eMail from the DARTO people in Argentina. They're offering a 50% off pre-sale (order now, the product should ship by September). Offer good for the first 1000 purchasers, limit one per order.

https://www.dartointernational.com/

Over the years I've collected a number of their pans, I prefer tham to the deBuyer, others. Stamped from a sheet of carbon steel, no handle rivets etc. They ship them with a linseed oil coating to prevent rust during transit. They work well on the Egg, Weber, other grills. They excel on my BlueStar.

They ship by DHL. No issues in the past with either purchases or shipping.

I'm adding the n.35 Paella to my collection. $50 +$15 shipping.

Paella n.35

- 4.5 cm (1.77 in) - Height

- 35 cm (13.7 in) - External diameter

- 31 cm (12.2 in) - Internal diameter (flat cooking area)

- 4.2 kgs (9.25 lbs) - Weight

- 4 mm (0.15 in) - Thickness

- 100% carbon steel

- Color grey (once seasoned, they turn dark gray to black)

- Pressed into a single laminated iron 4mm thick with no welds or rivets

- Finish, coated with linen oil

Highly recommended, well worth the wait.

Well this ended up being a $65 coffee break while draining the front axle of the tractor.  Thanks!  I await my pan.

Though I was tempted - my last two carbon steel skillets ended up at our local steel mill and are now barbed wire on some farmer's fence somewhere here in the USA!!!

BACK BACK cow!!! You'll get hurt up against RRP's nasty fence!  =)=)=)

I use a pealla all the time, deep dish, roasting, etc. Have not done pealla yet. Probably my most used egg pan

Should be soon. I expect shipping sometime in September.

Too bad @RRP missed out. I guess some can't figure out a real pan. Insert smiley face here.

LOL - yup…I’m probably just too stupid to use a “real pan” but honestly I don’t have a gas fired stove so I have/will aways wonder if it was just my stupidity or that my electric stove was ALSO part of my steel pan low IQ.

FIRE away electric stove & steel pan users! Just the same I have supported our local steel mill and their barbed wire manufacturing  product long enough!
  • Not familiar with Darto, but love carbon steel and cast iron. They’re the only pans that see our cooking apparatuses.

Just about mid-September, we should be getting the email notification soon that the pans are on the way.

I've been contemplating starting a GoFundMe for RRP, get him a decent gas stove and some carbon steel.Anybody else in on this?

Mine was delivered today. Yet to open. Going away for a couple days without kids. It will stay in the box until I return.
