Oak Barn Beef: Five Year Anniversary!
I've been buying from Hannah since she started her business. Back then I'd meet her in the parking lot of the Ag. College to do a deal. Later on she even delivered directly to my front door a few times. Never a disappointment, just always a fabulous product. If interested, a brief history of her biz is below. To me it's a impressive story.
At the bottom of her email there are a couple ways to win free beef.

@dbCooper Inspiring story about being focused and making the goal reality.I just ordered a couple of boneless rib eye steaks. Shipping was very reasonable for a small business.Since I don't do Bookface or Instagram I must pass on the contest.I enjoy trying out new sources of beef recommended thru the forum rabbit hole. I am sure the steaks will be great. Thanks for the post.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! I've ordered from her a few times and on 1 of the orders the website totally messed my order total in my favor. I noticed the error and sent her the difference. She called me personally and thanked me.

They are on it-got a shipment email at around 8:10 AM (EDT) today. Definitely a personalized connection. Looking forward to the initial cook.

As promised-the Oak Barn boneless rib eye ( 1.2 lb) made it's debut:Some cook pics and then my take: Reverse seared to around the low 120's *Fthen the caveman finish-Standing tall for the low&slow-On the hot side right here-The requisite $$$$ shot-It had a very enjoyable beef flavour (nod) and was quite tender. I have one more to cook but on a single data point I will order again. Thanks @dbCooper for the steer.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. lousubcap said:Thanks for the article @alaskanassasin.Yeah that Don Close seems like a real shill for big cattle. Awe isn't that cute small little cattle producers selling direct to customers, small producers and processors are niche and will never make it or feed America, and are unsafe. This attitude grates on me, yes there will actually be a better product raised and more humanly, also these outfits provide jobs to small towns and bring in commerce and pump money into rural economies.South of Columbus, Ohio.

I ordered the celebration box. It was supposed to arrive on Wednesday and I didn't get it until late Friday. The dry ice was gone, but everything was still solid. It looked like good product. The shipping was cheap. For a shipped product, as long as it's good quality, I'll probably do it again.

I buy local.beef, mostly because my cousin and chief beef inspector, is a heifer, so she can spot the heifers that we're not related to, and those are the ones we shoot all willy nilly like
